New TSK Belt Ranking System

September 10, 2002

Dear Students,

Beginning September 17, 2002 we will be making a slight revision to our ranking system.

In our current belt system, you were considered a high belt when you achieved your 2nd stripe on your belt. Beginning September 17, 2002, high belts will be distinguished by a new belt of the same color with a black stripe through the middle of the belt. This will better differentiate the high belts from the low belts of the same color for both instructors and students. In addition the number of classes per stripe and the number of stripes per belt will be adjusted to further improve our rank system. Neither if these changes will affect the overall minimum number of class requirements for achieving your black belt.

These revisions will go into effect on September 17, 2002. You will remain on the current raking system until your next belt promotion after September 17, 2002. Below is a table showing the revised system. Keep training!
